Chronic Pain

A very real and debilitating problem for an estimated 20% of the population, which could even be as high as 60% in the over 75's!!

Chronic Pain is defined as pain that has lasted for more than 3 months. The original injury may have actually recovered but the pain persists. Pain is a complex phenomenon and affects us all differently. NHS guidelines suggest exercise, staying at work, physical therapy and painkillers as effective ways to reduce and manage the pain. Osteopathy and massage can greatly help and the exercises osteopaths recommend can also assist in possibly breaking the pain cycle.
